Young Roundabouters Trip to The Ark!

On Saturday 13th February, The Young Roundabouters took the bus into town to see The Girl Who Forgot to Sing Badly, at The Ark Cultural Centre for Children in Temple Bar, a one-man show performed by Louis Lovett.

“This is the story of Peggy. And the packing. And the blizzard. And the boat.
Peggy O’Hegarty and her parents were packers.
Each day someone would call with a job and a time.
‘I want 17 foxes in boxes by breakfast’,
said the caller and all of the packers said: ‘fine’.
But one day the phone it forgot to keep ringing.
And then all the boxes forgot to need stuffing.
And then poor old Peggy, she forgot to keep singing.
And she opened the curtains and found outside ...
nothing. Because all of the people in her city were gone.
So Peggy went out to explore ...”

The Young Roundabouters enjoyed the bus ride, walking through Temple Bar, having their photo taken with a giant Leperachaun, but most of all, most of them enjoyed the show, which was very audience interactive and extremely well written, performed, designed & directed!

Let’s hope there are more plays like this for the Young Roundabouters to go see!
